This song is so special to me and because it was recorded a while back it almost got left off the album! I am SOOOO glad this did not end up happening! It was originally written as a comforting gift to a mate from my hometown of Townsville who was going through a rough time. I was inspired by his fighting spirit, even in those dark days and having been through similar times myself the writing became a massive cathartic & personal exercise.
lyrics
In the darkest, darkest of your night.
I will run for you, I will run and fight.
Nothing, nothing will make me lose my sight.
In the deepest, deepest thick of night.
I’ll run for you, I’ll carry you.
You will get through, I’m here for you. (x3)
I will fight!
Through the deepest, deepest dark of night. No mountain, mountain is too high We’ll keep chasing, chasing the morning light.
No mountain, mountain is too high.
We’ll keep chasing, chasing the morning light
M8:
I will climb, even though this mountain is high.
I will face the fear inside. Inside…
Climb. Climb.
